Providing a high end bespoke finish, Starling’s in-house Aqua Transfer dip film printing process gives customers the opportunity to customise the finish of solid aircraft interior surfaces. Everything from bulkheads, cabin dividers, first class sliding doors, bar unit worktops and sidewalls can be treated in a single application.

Providing a more sustainable alternative to using natural materials such as wood veneers and marble, our fully automated dip film system will achieve incredible results that will transform an aircraft interior and create a fully bespoke visual statement. Starling’s highly specialised process ensures print designs are consistently applied on each surface and from batch to batch, which ensures the overall look of the cabin is seamless. Once applied, the film is easily repairable and can be re-polished if required.

Featuring a 1.2 metre x 3.4 metre tank with robotic arm, automated film lay and activation system, the Aqua Transfer process ensures the consistency of application to the surface, for the best quality finish. Starling’s in-house large scale tank can accommodate large and small parts, in a single dip. In addition to a huge range of standard print designs including wood veneer, stone, granite, and graphite patterns, custom designs can be developed for a unique finish to your aircraft interior. Customers can choose from a high gloss, semi-matt or matt lacquer finish.

Every application delivered by Starling is fully certified under our EASA Form 1 approval, which meets stringent regulations regarding smoke and toxicity, heat release and flammability – (C5 25.853 Part IV & V).
